Pray daily for teachers

Jesus modeled many things for us.

He was a preacher. A healer. A counselor. A miracle worker. A son. A brother. A friend.

He was also a teacher.

The impact of his teaching has never died. The knowledge and wisdom he shared with his disciples has endured and has been passed on for thousands of years.

Today is the first day of school for many in our region (Central Texas). Many other schools started a week or so ago. As the Church, and as individuals, let’s take time daily to pray for our kids and their teachers.

When you’re praying for teachers, here are a few things you can mention:

  • Thank God for their willingness to serve and invest in our children.
  • Praise God that he’s blessed them with the abilities to teach and they’ve obeyed the call.
  • Pray that they love our children as Christ loved children and that they model Christ in the classroom.
  • Pray for supernatural strength to spend many hours in the classroom and then come home and give their families the attention they need.
  • Pray for endurance and patience and love.
  • Pray that the children are attentive and eager to learn.

Proverbs 22:6 says:

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Thank you, teachers, for your willingness to serve children. Thank you for loving them and passing along knowledge. And thank you for using your God-given talents to share the love of Christ.

How does your church minister to teachers and schools in your community?
