You have your team. It’s time to play ball.

The next time you’re in the sanctuary or you’re in your Sunday School class, look around you.

See those people?

That’s your team. God put you together for a reason.

1 Peter 4:10-11 says:

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

From this, we learn a number of things, including:

  • God gives gifts
  • God gives gifts to each and every person — no exceptions
  • Those gifts are given to be shared, not hoarded
  • Those gifts are given to us to serve others, share God’s grace and to glorify God through Jesus Christ

Again, look around you. Each person on your team has a gift. If you take a moment to assess those gifts — mercy, wisdom, teaching, preaching, hospitality, service, encouragement, administration, etc — you’ll see that God has provided you a rich talent pool.

Please don’t look for something that isn’t there. And, for the sake of those who need to hear the Gospel today, don’t wait around for the time to be right to suit your needs.

God has provided your team with the strenghts and the gifts needed for the appointed time, and that time is now.

It’s time to play ball.
